My Workshop

This is my 13" South Bend metal lathe.  I picked this up in Jan 08 from an old timer friend who was downsizing his home machine shop after 50 years.  This replaced my old reliable Logan 10" which served me faithfully for many years.  The picture on the right  is what the South Bend looked like when I went to pick it up from his shop.

Here is old faithful, 1966 Hardinge TM/UM horizontal milling machine.  I bought this from a machine liquidator in PA and had it shipped to me.  This Hardinge is a very unique mill and with the addition of a special custom machined bracket I was able to add a Bridgeport "M" head and now have the best of two worlds a horizontal and vertical mill.  This particular mill has the rare ivory dials on all three axis handles.  IF you look closely at the picture on the left you will see my rotary phase converter allowing my lathe and mill to run on 240V three phase power.

Hang in there I'm still working on this page more to come.
